EILYN LOMBARD

I am the mother of Alejandra and Reina Lucía, a gardening apprentice, and I am exploring the art of repairing, sewing, and redesigning, while experimenting with recyclable materials.
I work as an assistant professor of Latin American Studies and Spanish at Central Connecticut State University, while researching Latin American and Caribbean poetry written in authoritarian regimes about the city/space.
I have published the poetry notebooks three times (2023), Days of Fighting (2023), Welcome to Facebook (2022), The Red Lands (2019), All the Fatigued Goddesses (2011) and The Girls on the Bridge Are Usually Fragile (2005).
Along with three other women, I founded Candela Review , a place for networking and burning what needs to be burned. I am the Gender, Diversity, and Strategic Partnerships Coordinator at the Initiative for Research and Advocacy .
The blogs created by my Clark students are a sample of what collective learning can do in the classroom. See X. Equis, a culture and arts blog , and Poetry is a Weapon Loaded with the Future .
